Turkish Ceramics Society

Turkish Ceramics Society (TSD), founded in 1990, is the first non-governmental organization active in the field of ceramics in Turkiye. It has a unique structure that brings together the art, science (engineering) and industry wings of ceramics. It has been organizing scientific, technical, artistic, economic and social congresses, seminars, conferences, panels, exhibitions and similar meetings for 34 years. It works to increase interest in ceramics by introducing both industrial ceramic materials and ceramic art to the society.

The work carried out by the art wing has provided TSD with an unrivaled position in the field of contemporary ceramic art. The primary aim of the association, which is impartial towards both academicians and studio artists in the exhibitions it organizes, is to present quality contemporary works to the society. It has introduced Turkish ceramic art to the sector by opening exhibitions at important ceramic fairs such as UNICERA (Turkiye) or CERSAIE (Italy).

TSD, under the umbrella of the Turkish Ceramics Federation (TSF), has provided an invaluable collection to the TSF and has formed the nucleus of a contemporary ceramics museum to be established in the future. This collection, created with donations from Turkish and foreign artists, is kept in the TSF building.

National and international ceramic exhibitions are organized and art sessions are held within the scope of the International Ceramics, Glass, Enamel, Glaze and Paint Congress (SERES) and the Ceramics Congress with International Participation, which are organized by TSD every two years.

During the lock down of pandemic period, online exhibitions were organized to create a space for ceramic artists to exhibit their works.

TSD is a member of the Turkish Ceramics Federation (TSF), the European Ceramic Society (ECERS), the International Enamellers Institute (IEI) and the European Enamel Authority (EEA).
